BloodMarked Review

Why Am I Reading?

When I read Legendborn back in 2023(4), I knew it was a series I wanted to return to. It was the first series that I read in a long time that I truly enjoyed. I had nothing but good things to say, that was a rare occurrence in today’s book world. I loved the characters, the plot, the pacing, the magic system, everything. It was so fresh and new and exactly what I was looking for. At the time I was reading Legendborn, I was also reading the Throne of Glass series. The writing and the characters were vastly different yet I picked continuing with the TOG series over reading BloodMarked. I think at the time, someone also had the book checked out so I decided I could wait. I just didn’t think I would wait for almost 2 years lol.

I finally chose to pick it back up again because I was on a reading binge. I just had a trip to the library and I was in the mood for something exciting. I wanted to feel angst and yearning. I wanted something intense that I couldn’t put down. I wanted to be immersed in a gripping tale. I wanted romance. I wanted a page turner, something that occupied my thoughts and made me excited to read again. I knew the first book had done that for me. I had a lot of high hopes for the second book. Plus I had heard that this was a Brianna and Sel book and I knew I would eat the up right away. I loved their dynamic in the first book. Not that I disliked Bree and Nick, but like come on, who can pass up a romance between the dark haired brooding character.
